Pre-K

Most Popular Pre-Kindergarten In Monmouth County

Seashore Pre-Kindergarten has earned such a good reputation with area families, all 2016-17 classes are just about full and a waiting list has started. Open to children who turn four by December 31, the program continues to build new skills, helps young students get used to a structured school environment, fosters socialization and makes sure they are well prepared for kindergarten on every level.

Pre-Kindergarten Campus Helps Children Shoot For The Top
Like our three-year-olds, pre-kindergartners have their own campus with spacious classrooms, computer lab, art loft, indoor heated pool, large gym and playground. Students do not spend the day in one room. They transition throughout the building to different specials, see children in other classes and have plenty of opportunities to make many friends.

The Challenging Curriculum Gives Children A Foundation They Can Count On
Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is advanced, challenging and fun. Boys and girls learn how to form upper and lower case letters, write their names, form and recognize numbers to 20, count up to 100, and develop reading readiness, basic math and communication skills. They participate in science lab where they find out why seasons change and how to make snow, ice cream and magnet chains. They learn rhythm, rhyme and what green eggs and ham taste like from surprise visitors like the Cat In The Hat. They celebrate Earth Day by planting seedlings in their garden. They are introduced to Spanish, make art projects, take music, visit the library and go on seasonal field trips to enhance education. They take the stage in large-scale winter and spring song and dance productions eager to show parents how far they have come. And, they end the year with field day events, a day at the beach and BBQ at our outdoor pool pavilion.

Teachers Use Creative Methods To Reinforce Concepts
Letter and number formation is not just introduced one way. To make sure students understand and can apply what they are taught, lessons are presented using countless creative methods including song, rhyming, name mats, finger painting, stickers, bingo markers, play doh, blocks, pattern cubes, matching, puzzles and beads. They also trace with pencils, paint brushes, glue and ice cubes, and use food, shaving cream, sand and snow to help perfect fine motor skills.

Starting In Pre-K, Students Take Intro To Technology & Are Introduced To Smart Boards
To give pre-kindergartners a jump on technology, there is a program designed especially for this age group. Taught by Seashore’s Technology Director, students start the year by developing mouse, point/click, colorized graphic skills and more. Promethean ActivBoards are also used to engage boys and girls, strengthen what is covered in the classroom and add more depth to units.

An Accelerated Program For Children Who Miss The Kindergarten Cut-Off
Our Accelerated Pre-K Program is a great option for students missing the kindergarten cut off. Along with our standard curriculum, they are challenged with math and phonics workbooks, advanced reading readiness skills such as beginning letter blending and sight words, and a writing journal.

The Swim & Physical Education Program Is A Smash Hit
Pre-kindergarteners take physical education, where coaches work with them to develop balance, eye-hand coordination and gross motor skills needed to navigate obstacle courses and play sports such as hockey, basketball, soccer and t-ball. And, twice a week, they have swim lessons in their indoor heated pool, where certified instructors teach them to swim on their own with confidence. Full-time students also participate in yoga, which not only develops balance, posture, strength and concentration, but has been proven to help children improve focus in the classroom.

All Classes Fill Quickly
To accommodate the number of children, who enroll in this program, and keep class size small, we offer four sections Monday through Friday.
