Theater Camp

Seashore Theater Camp “On Broadway”

Seashore Theater Camp gives children their start “On Broadway,” literally. Aspiring actors spend the summer in our Theater “On Broadway” — 410 Broadway in Long Branch, that is. Boys and girls master the acting, singing and dance skills to bring down the house in large-scale productions.

Campers To Shine In Willie Wonka August 13-15 And In Hits Like Last Summer’s Matilda The Musical

After rehearsing all summer, the curtain goes up on dazzling Broadway-quality musicals. Theater Camp Founder and Director Renee Harrison Pincus raises the barre on what can be expected from children in seven short weeks. Shows feature high-energy choreography. Special effects that wow. Authentic costumes. And acting that leaves audiences wanting more.

Back in 2013, Seashore Theater Camp saw Matilda The Musical on Broadway. Last year, since campers couldn’t perform live, they got to star in a movie version of the Tony-nominated musical! This year, don’t miss the talented young cast in Willie Wonka Jr. August 13-15. Shows will be Friday, August 13 at 7p.m., Saturday, August 14 at 2 and 7p.m. and Sunday at 2p.n.

Theater Camp Takes Acting To New Heights

No expense is spared to prepare young actors for their roles. Children even learn to FLY.  The stars in Peter Pan, Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins got to spend a week with Flying By Foy! This is the company responsible for flying effects in Broadway shows, movies and television.

Participants Also See Broadway Shows & Take Workshops With Stars*

Campers see Tony-winning musicals. In addition, they hone skills by taking workshops with actors in these shows at NYC rehearsal studios like Ripley Grier. Since Broadway was shuttered last summer due to COVID-19,  Song and Dance Workshops were held at Seashore in person and via Zoom. Boys and girls learned from talented actors including Brad Bass from Memphis The Musical, Anthony Galde from Wicked, Bethany Tesarck from Diana The Musical. Broadway not opening in time for Summer 2021, didn’t stop Seashore from having in-person workshops with stars including  Tessa Alves, who got them rocking with Don’t Stop Believing June 30, Nathan Lucrezio from Diana, who taught the group Arabian Nights July 1,and Tony-nominated Kerry Butler, .who will teach character development July 7.

Plus Swimming Lessons, Recreational Activities & Special Events

But that’s not all. Unlike other summer acting programs, Seashore Theater Campers take swim lessons and cool off in pools full of slides during afternoon free swim. They participate in exciting recreational activities. And join the rest of the camp for Friday Special Events.

Conveniences For Parents Like FREE Door-To-Door Transportation
What’s more, Seashore Theater Camp makes things easy on parents. There is door-to-door transportation at no extra charge. Free childcare from 7:30-9a.m. for those who work early. And extended care until 6p.m. for a nominal fee.
